We are planning a full calendar of clinics, exciting classes and parties for the 2014 Sun Circuit. The full list will be posted soon

 

Money Added Classes:

Smart Boons Fence Work Challenge
                         

$10000 added to Open            Thursday Jan. 30                         
$2500 added to the Non Pro    Thursday Jan. 30               

FOR OPEN:  Exhibitor must show shows 1,2,3 & 4 of Sun Circuit 2014, either Junior or Senior Cow horse. to be eligible to enter

FOR  NON PRO: Exhibitor must  show shows 1,2,3 & 4 of Sun Circuit 2014  either Amateur, Select,  or Novice Amateur, Youth or Novice Youth Cow horse to be eligible for the  SMART BOONS Non Pro Fence  Work Challenge. Youth exhibitors who do not complete all 4 shows must have a veterinary form from show vet to be eligible for earnings.  AQHA ownership rules of exhibitors horse will be followed. 

ENTRY FEE  $300.
$50 of each entry will be retained as a cattle charge.

EXHIBITORS DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE SHOWN SAME HORSE IN AQHA CLASSES.

One entry per exhibitor.  Open and Non Pro Entries will close at 11 am January 30th, 2014.

-100% of entry fees less cattle charge will be combined with added money and paid back.

- $500 will be paid to the high placing NRCHA limited open rider in the open division.

 

 

Cow Horse Derby & Spectacular

$1000 added Farnam Cow Horse Derby

$1000 added Amateur Bridle Spectacular sponsored by The Syburg’s

No additional entry fee required

Exhibitor must notify office of eligibility prior to conclusion of last respective Cow Horse class of show 4.

Horse must exhibit in respective Cutting and Cow Horse class shows 1,2,3 and 4. Only scores from respective division will count towards final score. .Horse will be given a Reined Cow Horse score in cutting separate from any score obtained in AQHA class. Horse score from the Cutting (Reined Cow Horse), Cow Horse Dry Work and Fence work from shows 1,2,3 and 4 will then be added together to determine placing.

 

 

 

Cinch Timed Event Challenge Roping

 

$2500  Added to the Open Heading               $2500 Added to the Open Heeling.

All classes to run Tuesday 1/28/14           
                                                                                 
Exhibitor must exhibit in all  AQHA Open Headings prior to Cinch Timed Event Challenge  to be eligible for Cinch Timed Event Challenge Open Heading. Exhibitor must exhibit in all AQHA Open Heeling prior to Cinch Timed Event Challenge to be eligible for Cinch Timed Event Challenge Open Heeling. Exhibitor must exhibit in all AQHA Amateur Headings or all AQHA Youth Headings prior to Cinch Timed Event Challenge to be eligible for Cinch Timed Event Challenge Non Pro Heading. Exhibitor must exhibit in all AQHA Amateur Heeling or all AQHA Youth Heeling prior to Cinch Timed Event Challenge to be eligible for Cinch Timed Event Challenge Non Pro Heeling. Exhibitors do not have to have shown the same horse in AQHA classes. AQHA ownership rules of amateur and youth exhibitors horse will be followed. 

ENTRY FEE  $125
$25 of each entry will be retained as a cattle charge.

One entry per exhibitor.

NCEA Student-Athletes To Compete In Sun Circuit Shootout

Eight collegiate equestrian reiners, including six from National Collegiate Equestrian Association institutions, will compete in the Sun Circuit Shootout on Sunday, Feb. 2. The Sun Circuit Shootout featuring collegiate student-athletes is a new addition to Arizona Sun Circuit in 2014.

Eight institutions will send one rider each to participate in a reining competition presented by the Arizona Quarter Horse Association. The six participants from NCEA institutions include: Katherine Berg (Baylor), Taylor Brown (Fresno State), Layla Choate (South Carolina), Brynn Larson (New Mexico State); Darby Mailhot (Delaware State) and Raivenne Scott (South Dakota State).

Horse must have shown in either AQHA Junior or AQHA  Senior Hunter under Saddle shows 1,2,3,4,5 & 6  of Sun circuit 2014 to be eligible to enter. Does not need to have shown with same exhibitor in AQHA Junior or Senior  Hunter under Saddle  as is shown by in Stakes Class.

ENTRY FEE OPEN   $100
ENTRY FEE LIMITED $75
Exhibitors may enter both open and limited classes. Entries will close prior to start of class on Saturday February 2 2014.
NSBA limited rider list will be used to verify eligibility.

Class will run concurrently with Green Hunter under Saddle Sunday  February 3, 2013.

100% of entry fees will be combined with added money and paid back. Sun Circuit will retain nothing.

                                  
AQHA rules and eligibility will be adhered too. If horse is found to ineligible for AQHA placings for any reason all monies will be returned to the Arizona Sun Circuit.

Entry fee- Free

Class to run on Saturday February 1, Class to be judged on a forward pace with a free flowing stride similar to what would be a necessary pace to change leads or exhibit a Western Riding horse.

Horse must have a ROM in a performance event excluding Western Pleasure. Horse cannot have an ROM in Western Pleasure or $2500 in Western Pleasure earnings as of Jan. 24, 2014.
Open -Horse must have exhibited in Junior or Senior Western Pleasure in 4 of 8 shows at Sun Circuit 2014.
Non Pro –Horse must have exhibited in Amateur, Select Amateur, 13 & under or 14-18 Western pleasure in 4 of 8
Amateur shows or 3 of 6 Youth shows at Sun Circuit 2014.
