SUPER SELECT HI POINT AWARD
1. Exhibitor must be 63 years of age or older as of 1st day of show - super select division will be held within the select division - participating super selects will compete against other participating super selects, as well as being judged in the select class (or amateur if there is no select class in that discipline)
2. Must sign up to participate - points accrue from date and time of signup - signups taken at awards booth or laminating table at show - 1 rider/1 horse combo. Signups made before start of show to be placed in pool for random draw prize of personal consultation with equine sport coach.
3. Judges will place 12 contestants in each Select class and each Amateur class that does not have a Select division - (working cow horse, breakaway, tie down, heading, heeling, driving, cutting, performance halter, barrels and poles)
4. Points will be awarded on the 9 point system and will be accrued by a participating Super Select ONLY in competition with the other participating Super Selects in the class. For example - 20 riders in class, 6 of whom are participating Super Selects. 1st Super Select placer is 3rd in class under one judge - he/she receives 6 Super Select points, next Super Select is 10th and receives 5 Super Select points. No other Super Select places in the top 12 and so no one else receives Super Select points under that judge.
5. Total number of points per Super Select exhibitor will be calculated daily. Super Select earning the highest number of points will be awarded a high point prize of $500. Second place will receive $250 and third place $150. There will be multiple random draws for $100 prizes. All prizes will be in the form of gift cards.
6. There will also be 2 random draws the first day of the show. One will be for an hour session with Kirsten Farris, an equine sports consultant, and second will be for one person and two friends with James Shaw, author of “Tai Chi for Equestrians”, who will give an hour lesson of tai chi exercises designed to aid in communication with your horse.
